All scholars studying or interested in any aspect of Venetian studies broadly defined, are invited to subscribe to the News on the Rialto.
The News on the Rialto is an annual publication (and now a website) devoted to providing an informational point of reference for scholars working on all aspects of Venetian studies, including the political, economic, social, religious, artistic, architectural, musical and literary history of the city, its overseas empire, and its mainland territories. Originally begun in 1978 as a way to keep scholars of Venice up to date on the work of colleagues throughout the world, the News on the Rialto has in the intervening years established itself as a significant tool of communication between scholars and academics in the expanding field of Venetian studies. Besides keeping those in the Venetian scholarly community informed about each other's current research and publications, the News also provides announcements that allow scholars to carry out their research more effectively, publishing the schedules of the city's more than twenty libraries and archives, as well as information about upcoming conferences and other matters of general interest related to scholars working on Venice.
Annual subscriptions are $10 (or equivalent in local currency). The online directory is updated monthly, and the print version of this year's volume will be sent in the early spring.
Subscription information is available at www.newsontherialto.com, or from notr@byu.edu.
