H-Net Announcement Interview With Author of The Lavender Scare

We have just published a website interview with the author of The Lavender Scare: The Cold War Persecution of Gays and Lesbians in the Federal Government which uncovers a little-known episode of gay and lesbian history. Behind the Red Scare there was a Lavender Scare--a purge of gays and lesbians in federal agencies that not only ruined lives but also helped launch the gay rights movement.
