The University of the Pacific in Stockton will host the 55th California History Institute on April 23-24, 2004. The deadline for paper proposals has been extended to February 16, 2004. Conference organizers are seeking academic participation by undergraduates, graduate students and faculty who focus on California under Spain and Mexico, as well as Mexican-American and Latino issues during the American period.
