Join the Catholic Historical Society for a presentation on Mary Virginia Merrick--native Washingtonian, founder of the Christ Child Society, and now candidate for beatification. Mr. Harry Risetto and Dr. Regis Boyle will speak on the life of this extraordinary woman.
The Church of the Annunciation is on the corner of Massachusetts Avenue, Idaho Avenue and 39th Street NW, about three blocks west of Washington National Cathedral. On MetroBus line. The Catholic Historical Society of Washington was founded in 1976 to
preserve and promote awareness of Catholic history in the Archdiocese of Washington. The Archdiocese includes the city of Washington, DC and five surrounding Maryland counties: Montgomery, Prince George's, Charles, Calvert, and St. Mary's counties. The society sponsors four lectures each year, a quarterly newsletter and occasional tours of historic Catholic sites. Annual dues are $20.
