The 2004 Annual Meeting of the Northeast Conference on British Studies (NECBS) will be held October 1-2, 2004, at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
The NECBS invites proposals for panels or papers in all area of British Studies, broadly defined, from across the arts, humanities and social sciences. Panels may include thematic or interdisciplinary sessions, teaching and pedagogy, or roundtable discussions. Proposals for entire panels on a common theme are preferred, but proposals for individual papers that may be assembled with others to create a panel are also welcome. North American scholars, international scholars, and graduate students are all encouraged to submit proposals to the Program Chair.
Please send proposals with an abstract of the paper (200-300 words), as well as brief curriculum vitae (1-2 pages) to the address given below.
With the proposal, please be sure to include a current mailing address, a summer address (if different from the current address), and an email address.
Proposals must be received by APRIL 15, 2004.
The NECBS serves as the regional gathering for colleagues in the northeastern United States and eastern Canada but welcomes participants from all regions as well as outside North America.
