The 6th Annual meeting of SAHMS will be held February 27-28 in one of the historic districts of Augusta, Georgia. The meeting is co-hosted by the Medical College of Georgia, the Center for the Study of Georgia History and Augusta State University. At the conference will be papers and posters on the history of medicine and science, broadly construed to include historical, literary, anthropological, philosophical and sociological approaches to the history of health care. The SAHMS meeting itself is an opportunity for "cross-talk" between MD and PhD scholars as well as poignant discussions about the intersection of medicine and science with literature and history. The meeting is not about the South nor limited to Southern researchers; rather, the program includes participants from all across America and Canada.
