This is a call for papers for a one-day conference focusing on Internationalizing the Campus: From Planning to Assessment. Papers on any area of international education or studies are welcome, but proposals that address the integration of different areas of the university in campus internationalization are especially encouraged. Possible topic areas include integration involving area studies, global studies, study abroad, foreign language, faculty development, international education in general studies and the major, international relations, and assessment of international education and learning. The keynote speaker at the conference will be Dr. Christa Olson of the American Council on Education.
The "internationalization of the campus" has been the subject of a number of major reports during the past year, including those by the American Council on Education (ACE) "Internationalizing the Campus: A User's Guide", and by NAFSA "Internationalizing the Campus: 2003". This conference will give presenters the opportunity to share their best practices and their current research on how to address some of the challenges to truly pervasive and deep campus internationalization detailed in these reports. For a copy of the paper/panel application form please visit the website below, or contact the conference director, Prof. David Prejsnar. Proposals should include a paper/panel title, full contact information for the presenters, any technology needs and a 100 word abstarct. The proposal deadline is January 15, 2004.
