Fourth Annual Portland State University National Spring Student Symposium, 30 April, May 1, 2004. All undergraduates are invited to submit a 1-2 page abstract, along with a short bibliography and cover letter, including contact information (email, phone, address) by March 5 to the address below.

The Portland State University National Spring Symposium is a juried competition designed to acquaint undergraduates contemplating a career in art history with the processes and experiences encountered by graduate students when participating in a symposium. The presentation will be 20 minutes in length and may cover any area of art history or visual culture. Applicants will be notified of the committee's decision by March 19th. At that time they will receive a symposium schedule. The chosen speakers must turn in the text of their papers (8-10 pages) by April 9. This symposium is co-sponsored by the Portland Art Museum. Participants will receive a certificate to acknowledge their accomplishments.
