The Centre for Rhetorics & Hermeneutics is sponsoring a conference exploring the relationship between rhetoric, violence and evil, to take place 23-24 January 2004 in Redlands, California. We welcome any proposal for presentation, and are especially interested in identifying respondents to currently accepted proposals.
Our conferences focus upon creating a space for dialogue. Presentations are limited to 10 minutes, with 10 minutes for respondents. An additional 30 minutes is dedicated to unmoderated conversations among participants dedicated to a central goal: identifying, reflecting upon, and developing responses to concepts and circumstances of violence and evil (and why rhetoric tends to be associated with both, and whether it can overcome such association).
For more information, please visit our website and peruse the CFP, Abstracts and Presentations on-hand. All accepted proposals must submit full presentations no later than 7 January 2004. All participants are expected to have read all presentations beforehand in order to facilitate dialogue.
