13th Arts Graduate Students' Conference
3 - 5 March, 2004, University of British Columbia
"Mediations: Negotiating Cultural Landscapes"
Deadline for submission of abstracts: January 8, 2004.
We invite students of all arts and humanities programs to submit papers to this year's UBC Arts Graduate Students' Conference. Our title "Mediations: Negotiating Cultural Landscapes" opens itself to a variety of interpretations. Mediations shape positions in social and political structures. They take the form of translations between languages, genres, and cultures, and describe negotiations in contested spaces or at certain moments in history. "Mediations" can also refer to choices of media, methods, or strategies.
We encourage students of all levels to submit their work. Please send us a one-page abstract (max. 500 words) and a short biography (incl. your name, email, phone number, program, year of study, and research interests). We will grant the AGSC Award to the best abstract of a paper to be presented.
