The African American Studies Program’s Institute for African American Policy Research at the University of Houston will be holding its second annual research symposium on Africana Culture, Religion, and Philosophy. Selected scholars will present papers on topics in culture, religion, and philosophy focusing on the Africana experience in various geographical and cultural contexts, including Africa, the Americas, Asia, and Europe. This is a research program and participants are expected to engage and receive commentary on their respective essays. Designated essays will be prepared for publication. University faculty, independent scholars, and advanced graduate students are encouraged to submit a one page abstract via mail, fax, or email attached copy by March 7, 2004 to:
