The JAMES A. BARNES CLUB, Temple University’s graduate-student history organization, is pleased to announce the NINTH ANNUAL BARNES CLUB CONFERENCE. The conference will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2004, from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm at Temple University’s Center City building at 1515 Market Street in Philadelphia. In the past, the Barnes Club Conference has drawn participants from across the nation and around the world. This collegial and congenial environment offers excellent opportunities for professional development and interaction with one’s peers.
In addition to paper presentations, this Ninth Annual Barnes Club Conference will inaugurate a new program: Mock Interviews. This optional program offers graduate students invaluable experience in simulated interviews with faculty members from area universities. A sample mock interview will also occur for those graduate student who may wish to observe someone else being interviewed. Graduate students who are interested in participating should contact me for more information and register no later than December 31, 2003.
Faculty members are also encouraged and needed to participate on interviewing teams.
For more information about Mock Interviews or the Barnes Club Conference, please see our organization’s website below or contact David J. Ulbrich, conference committee chair, at the email below.
