Soliciting paper abstracts for panel for the joint Medical Anthro/Applied Anthro meetings in Dallas, March 2004. Panel will attempt to explore faith-based organizations and public funding or related issues broadly construed, especially in healthcare. Note the conference theme of advocacy & social science. Papers might engage the tension between academic secularism and the mutual goal of care for the underserved that much faith-based efforts support. Diverse perspectives/geographical representation appreciated.
Need not be limited to anthropologists. Practitioners welcome.
Abstracts required in advance of October 15th deadline, papers not required until January 2004.
