You are cordially invited to attend an international
conference to observe the centenary of the birth of
George Padmore. This centenary conference during
2nd-4th October is to honour and celebrate the life
of a Trinidadian and world renowned Pan-Africanist who
was a friend of CLR James and Dr. Eric Williams.
The opening ceremony will be held at the Learning
Resource Centre, UWI, St. Augustine on 2nd October at
6.30pm. (dress : elegantly casual). Please be seated
by 6.20 pm.
During 3rd and 4th October, the venue for the academic
sessions will be the Conference Room of the Sir Arthur
Lewis Institute of Social and Economic Studies
(SALISES), formerly ISER, which is located between the
Natural Sciences building and International Relations.
Cost for participation: US $ 20 for local academics,
US $ 40 for foreign participants, and $25 for the
public. Children in school uniforms are free.
