Mysery/Detective Fiction
Southwest/Texas PCA/ACA Joint Meeting with National PCA/ACA
April 7-10, 2004
San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter
San Antonio, TX
The CFP is open topic, although there are some suggested areas scholars may wish to pursue--
- DEFECTIVE DETECTIVES in the manner of Adrian Monk--
delightfully or troublingly quirky sleuth types
- readings by the authors of original, unpublished short mystery
stories or short chapters
- the challenges of hybrid forms such as historical detective/
mystery fiction
- a session on the creators of brilliant mystery/detective short
stories, classic and current
- crossovers from fiction to film, either classic or current
- sleuths as restorers of order, moral and otherwise
- mystery/detective fictionists as current Local Colorists
- mystery/detective fiction and technology
Please send the completed paper or a 200 word abstract by Nov. 15, 2003.
