Women's History Sites: Preserving & Making History conference, October 25-26, 2003, Washington, D.C.

The National Collaborative for Women's History Sites hosts its first national conference in Washington, D.C., October 24-26, 2003, with sessions on identifying and preserving women's history sites nationwide, operating historic sites, marketing women's history to the general public, presenting difficult histories. Organizations represented in panels include the Lower East Side Tenement Museum, Women in Military Service for America, Mary McLeod Bethune House, Alice Paul House, Susan B. Anthony House, National Women's History Project, National Park Service and National Trust for Historic Preservation. The conference concludes with a bus tour of DC area women's history sites.
