This conference provides a forum to share information on historic and contemporary communal societies. We will meet at the site of Mary's City of David (the Israelite House of David, as reorganized by Mary Purnell in 1930) in Benton Harbor, Michigan, which is celebrating its centennial in 2003. The conference site is fascinating and will appeal to scholars, current communitarians, and the general public.
