The Society for Late Antiquity will be sponsoring three sessions at the
International Medieval Studies Congress, May 6-9, 2004, at W. Michigan
University in Kalamazoo, Mich. As before, topics are open. One-page
abstracts are invited relating to the history, literature, religion,
culture, and society of Late Antiquity (that is, the European, North
African, and W. Asian world ca. 250-700). Particular emphasis should be
given to Late Antiquity as a discrete period with its own individual
characteristics. Abstracts may be forwarded to me, preferably by e-mail. Deadline for receipt of abstracts is September 21, 2003.
Please note that with the exception of a few awards (info available
from organizers: via the website provided below) there is no travel funding for participants, and that the submission of an abstract carries a commitment to attend the conference should the abstract be accepted.
