The Southern Historian is now accepting manuscript submissions on the culture and history of the American South from active graduate students. Our conception of Southern History is quite broad, to include the former Spanish borderlands, and the American Southwest. Historiographical essays dealing with the Antebellum South, Slavery, the Civil War, Reconstruction, or Civil Rights are also encouraged. The Southern Historian is written, edited, and refereed by graduate students from across the United States, Canada, and Europe under the auspices of The University of Alabama. Deadline for submission is November 15, 2003.
The Southern Historian is pleased to announce the creation of the Charles G. Summersell Fellowship. This one-time $250.00 cash award will be presented annually for an outstanding submission in the field of Southern History. All manuscript submissions are eligible.
