Call for Papers

The Latin American and Caribbean Section (LACS) of the Southern Historical Association (SHA) invites individual papers and complete panels for presentation at its annual meeting to be held November 3-6, 2004 in Memphis, Tennessee.

Papers on any aspect of Latin American or Caribbean history are welcome. Advanced graduate students are encouraged to submit proposals and become eligible for the Ralph Lee Woodward, Jr. Prize, an annual award for best paper presented by a graduate student. Presenters are not permitted to give papers at consecutive meetings but may serve as chairs of commentators in alternative years.

Proposals should include a 250-word abstract of the paper and an abbreviated c.v. for each presenter. These may be sent via email attachment. Those who prefer a hard-copy submission should send three copies to the address given below.

Proposals are due by October 20, 2003.
