'Yidish mitn kop arop': Yiddish in the Southern Hemisphere
(11-13 July 2004, Mandelbaum House, University of Sydney)
The theme of the Conference is Yiddish language and culture in the Southern Hemisphere. This is an interdisciplinary conference and papers relating to history, literature, sociology, and the arts are welcomed. Papers on other topics will be considered, but preference will be given to those bearing directly upon the conference theme. Postgraduate students engaged in academic research are encouraged to submit proposals based on their work.
Papers can be presented in either English or Yiddish.
It is intended that presenters will be able to submit their papers for publication in the conference proceedings.
Deadline for abstracts: January 30th 2004. Abstracts should not exceed three hundred words and must include title, author's name, postal and email address.
