The departments of music and history at Susquehanna University offer a rare opportunity to hear and discuss a landmark work of 20th-century exile literature: Hanns Eisler’s _Hollywood Songbook_, with poems of Bertolt Brecht and others. An afternoon symposium, moderated by David Imhoof and featuring Eisler and Brecht specialists Joy Haslam Calico of Vanderbilt University, Theodore Rippey of Bowling Green State University, and Karl-Heinz Schoeps of the University of Illinois, will precede an evening recital by David Steinau of this seldom performed work.
