The Oregon Historical Society expansion project is nearing completion, and the Society’s Research Library will reopen to the public on September 20, 2003 after a one-year closure. The Research Library is part of the Society’s main building, located at 1200 SW Park Avenue in downtown Portland. A new entrance was added to the building over the past eleven months.
A Research Library Open House takes place on Saturday, September 20 and Sunday, September 21 (The Research Library will not be open on Sundays after this date). Access to the Research Library collections for research purposes will resume on Wednesday, September 24 for Oregon Historical Society Members, and on Thursday, September 25 for non-members. Admission fee discounts for Multnomah County residents are no longer in effect.
There will be no charge for admission to the Research Library during Grand Opening week, September 20-27. Regular Research Library admission fees resume after September 27.

Thurs–Sat, 1–5 p.m. Open to all
Sunday–Tuesday Closed
