Chile: the Other September 11
A day of videos, discussion & music to mark 30 years of the military coup in Chile.
Saturday 13th September

Speakers include:
- Dr Francisco Dominguez (senior lecturer in Latin American Studies, Middlesex University) – The context and reasons for the coup in Chile
- Professor David Sugarman (Law School, Lancaster University) – The Pinochet case: a legal analysis
- Jimmy Bell (International Project on Human Rights, London) – A personal account of the ‘piquete de Londres’ – a group which formed a daily piquet outside parliament demanding Pinochet’s extradition to Spain.
- Hilary Wainwright (Editor of Red Pepper & author of ‘Reclaim The State) – What Chile meant to the left in Britain and the lessons that can be learnt from the Chilean experience
- Hugh O'Shaughnessy (Author of Pinochet: The Politics of Torture)
