The main concept is to carry out economic and political studies in various fields including: society and politics in Turkey, social and economic development in Turkey, Turkey's position in the EU, migrants in Germany, social structure of civil society in Turkey and on the Balkans, with particular focus on Bulgaria. The CfST publishes books and maintains a number of regular publication series, in which the research carried out is documented. In addition the CfST is actively involved in organising conferences to attract public awareness. The work of the CfST, with regards to Turkey is two-dimensional in several aspects. it can be seen as an interface between Turkey and Europe, between migrants and non-migrants, and between theoretical and practical approaches in these fields. The Center works in conjunction with other institutes and governmental and non-governmental organisations.
