Call For Proposals
Sarah Lawerence College Women’s History Program’s 6th Annual Conference
March 5-6, 2004
Orange Alert: Unite to defeat the Bush Agenda!
In post 9/11 America, the economy is unstable, corporate corruption continues unfettered as workers rights are eroded; and civil liberties fall by the way side as the nation’s 'war on terror' has resulted in the suppression of basic human rights world wide. Because the presidential election of 2004 will be one of the most important in history, The Sarah Lawrence College Women's History Program has decided to expand the conference beyond the subject of women's activism to defeating the Bush agenda.
We seek proposals for papers, panels, workshops, and performances on all aspects of progressive activism in opposition to the Bush Administration whether your focus is education, the economy, the environment, or world peace. Students, teachers and activists are all invited to participate:
Panel subjects include, but are not limited to the following:
The GOP Assault on the Environment
Peace Movement and the War on Terrorism
Abortion
Corporate Corruption
Media Expansion/Consolidation
