On October 16-17-18, 2003, the NCHE* will sponsor a national conference on History and Biography: The Individual and Historical Change. It will highlight the finding, writing, and teaching of biographical content, along with strategies and tactics for teaching this knowledge in a variety of settings.
The conference will be held at the Wilshire Grand Hotel in downtown Los Angeles, CA. More than 700 school educators, historians, museum/historical society personnel, and administrators are expected to attend the 46 sessions, visit the Exhibitors of educational materials, and enjoy special pre-conference bus and walking tours.
Stanford University historian David M. Kennedy will make the keynote speech. His topic will be The Role of the President as Commander in Chief: FDR.
