"Film and Media Studies Textbooks: New Models for Blasting the Canon": Papers are sought for a workshop which analyzes contemporary developments in the publishing, pedagogical, and academic politics of film/media studies textbooks. Papers might focus on critical methodologies, historical conceptualizations, and determinations of shifts in canon (re)formation by/in such textbooks. Papers may likewise trace connections between these phenomena and those of the ongoing crises in academic labor and curricula as exacerbated by the Second Gulf War.
