The Journal of Chickasaw History and Culture invites contributions for this multi-disciplinary and inter-disciplinary journal supported by the Chickasaw Nation. The Journal welcomes topics in history, anthropology, ethnohistory, archeology, Indian policy, political science, oral history, folklore, culture or any areas of research interested in promoting scholarship and interest in the Chickasaw Nation, people, and culture. Academics, artists, poets, novelists are all encouraged to contribute. The Journal offers a great opportunity for scholars to give back to the Indian community and stimulate interaction between academics and Indians.
Articles published in the Journal of Chickasaw History and Culture will be considered for yearly awards presented for the best article by a professional scholar ($200), a graduate student ($200), and an undergraduate student ($100). Please send articles in both a hard and electronic format, with a brief abstract, and information about the author, to either address.
The Journal is also expanding content with a Book Review section and is seeking interested reviewers. Reviews will focus first on Chickasaw topics and works on the Five Tribes, but also include other significant works in Native American study. Interested reviewers may send contact information and a list of interests and expertise to the editor.
