This 2-day scholarly conference offers an opportunity to reconsider significant issues related to the history of the British Atlantic/colonial America from 1640 to 1775. Eminent speakers will lead sessions on Political Economy, Amerindians and Captives, Maritime Atlantic, Military history and Social history. It celebrates the retirement and distinguished career of Ian K. Steele, author of _The English Atlantic 1675-1740: An Exploration of Communication and Community_; _Betrayals: Fort William Henry and the 'Massacre'_; and _Warpaths: Invasions of North America, 1613-1765_.
