Independent transcriptionist is preparing a proposal for transcription services. Proposal is to be submitted to NHPRC to request funding for transcription of oral histories relating to events of national historical significance. Oral historians or state archivists wishing to provide audiocassettes or digital wave files for transcription within this grant project should respond with a brief outline of the approximate number of recordings currently held, and general information summary or abstract about each recording's content and how it relates to national history. All transcripts will be completed according to NARA guidelines.

Oral historians will be provided draft proof copy for review and correction prior to final printing of transcripts. Anticipated grant length is expected to be 5+ years, to include transcription of 400+ recordings. Questions are welcomed from interested participants. Please contact via email first. State historical advisory boards will be provided review copies of proposal prior to NHPRC submission.
