In September 2003, the University of Central Lancashire in Preston will be celebrating the 175th anniversary from its small beginnings as the Institution for the Diffusion of Knowledge in Preston to its present position as the 6th largest university in the UK. The highlight of the weeks celebrations will be an international conferenc the theme of which is "The Diffusion of Knowledge", Past, Present and Future. The audience for the conference will be a wide range of vice chancellors and senior executives from the many universities, colleges, organisations and companies around the world that are in partnership with the University of Central Lancashire.
