The Symposium is international and interdisciplinary. Historians and philosophers, political theorists and literary scholars, classical bibliographers and rare books specialists, an astrophysicist and a musicologist will discuss the ancient texts themselves, the men and women who promoted them in the eighteenth century, and the enormous impact they had on the intellectual life of the age.
