The 2nd Summer University offers (from July until mid-October 2003) about 30 workshops, seminars, courses, lectures, conferences on a wide variety of subjects rangig not only from language, culture communication to German society & history but also including sciences & medicine. A special scholarship programme covering course fees, accomodation & traveling expenses is available (about 20 scholarships, maximum: 1000 Euro per applicant). Good command of German is necessary for most workshops this year, but the programme will become more international from 2004 onwards. Among the highlights: Youth and education in the 3rd Reich (in German and English), German language courses, Lasergestützte Verfahren in Medizin und Umweltforschung, Mensch-Maschine-Interaktion, Bildungsmarketing, Interkulturelles Verhandeln, Jugendforschung (Online-Seminar), Japan in Deutschland begegnen and many more.
