The Harriet Jacobs Papers announces the launch of its website. The project will produce a two-volume documentary edition of papers by and about the 19th-century African-American author, abolitionist, and reformer Harriet Jacobs (1813-1897), to be published by the University of North Carolina Press. The site includes information about Jacobs, her family, and her circle of reformers, the scope and significance of the papers, and the project staff, advisory board, and funders, among other material.
