This symposium will explore the representation and perception of the work of 20th century British sculptors abroad. Are there different histories of British sculpture in Europe and America? How has sculpture from Britain been curated in museums around the world? We seek proposals that look at, for example, the work of British émigré sculptors; commissions undertaken by British artists abroad; the buying and selling of British sculpture overseas.
