Recent years have witnessed growing interdisciplinary interest in the cultures, performance and practices of Italian Fascism, and in the architecture and planning of the regime. This symposium complements the La Scultura Lingua Morta exhibition on Fascist sculpture by addressing the wider transformation and use of public spaces under Mussolini. In particular, it considers urban landscapes as sites for the performance and rituals of Fascist cultures, and the roles of bodies in these spaces.
