WGBH is looking for a handful of (volunteer) middle school and high school history teachers to review a site about the Middle East. The site, called Global Connections, launched on PBS.org last fall. In order for us to pursue funding to update the site, we need to hear from teachers and students who have taken some time to review it. Tell us if it’s useful to you and how we could improve it.
Last summer WGBH launched "Global Connections," a stand-alone Web site (that means there's no accompanying TV show) about the Middle East on PBS.org.
We're looking for a few middle school and high school teachers who would be interested in spending some time on the site, and then would be willing to answer the questions below.
The URL of the site is listed below.
- What subjects do you teach? What grades?
- What are your first impressions of the site?
- Is there information on this site that would help you teach?
- Which information would be most useful to you?
- timeline
- essays
- lessons
- maps
- glossary
- links to other sites
- If you found the information useful, would you use this information in your teaching?
- What additional information do you wish was on the site?
- What two sites do you use most regularly to help you teach?
- Would you suggest this site to a friend or colleague? Why or why not?
- What geographical area would you like to see added to the site?
- In your opinion, how does this site compare to other sites about modern Middle Eastern history?
- Would you be interested in playing an editorial role in the next version of this site? If so, please include your contact information.
Please send your responses to the email address below.
Thanks for your time and interest.
