The Department of History and Political Science of Ashland University seeks papers for an upcoming conference (to be held Saturday, 11 October 2003) entitled "The Evolution of Modern American Conservatism. Papers on all relevant topics will be considered, but special attention will be given to works on the following topics:
- The origins of the “New Right,” and its historical antecedents
- Particular individuals who were of key importance to postwar conservatism
- The sources of the “Reagan Revolution”
- Commentary on the recent historiography of conservatism
- The particular importance of the state of Ohio on the development of modern conservatism
Those interested in presenting papers should send a c.v. and one-page abstract to the address below by 15 May 2003.
