Western Michigan University is pleased to host the 2003 Michigan Canadian Studies Roundtable
Friday, 11 April 2003
8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Fetzer Center, Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, MI
The Roundtable provides a forum for scholars, students,and others interested in Canada and US/Canadian relations to:
- establish contacts (both Michigan and Canadian)
- spread the word about their interests
- share syllabi, teaching materials, and other resources
- discuss Canadian Studies grants
- keep abreast of developments in a variety of fields including politics, culture, education, border issues, Quebec, First Nations, gender, and the environment.
At the noon luncheon, acclaimed Saskatchewan-born writer Michael Helm will read from The World Beyond the Sun.
A late afternoon field trip is planned to view the exhibit Shared Waters: Natives and French on the Great Lakes at the Fort Miami Heritage Society in St. Joseph (dinner included). For information on the exhibit, see http://www.fortmiami.org/sharedwaters.html.
