I am putting together a proposal for a paper session for the American Society of Environmental History meeting in Victoria, British Columbia (March 31-April 4, 2004). The proposed session involves forest history in Latin America. My own contribution to the session would be about the origin and diffusion of exotic conifer plantations in Argentine Patagonia. Other papers could address any issue regarding the historical use and management of trees in Latin America – temperate or tropical.
