The 2003 Symposium of the Agricultural History Society will take place May 29-31 at the New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum in Las Cruces. The theme is "Agriculture and Rural Life in the American Southwest and Northern Mexico." The meeting will coincide with the 2003 workshop for the New Mexico Ag in the Classroom Program.
The preliminary program and registration form is available in an Adobe PDF file on the Agricultural History Society announcements page (http://www.iastate.edu/~history_info/aghissoc.htm). The conference will include two half-day tours in the Las Cruces area and a "Tastes Through Time" dinner featuring historic and contemporary regional foods. Translators will be provided for Spanish-speakers and the Spanish-titled presentations.
Deadline for early registration is May 15. Conference registration includes both tours and all meals except breakfast and the Friday evening "on your own" supper. Single-day registration available. Agricultural History Society members, public school teachers, and museum professionals are encouraged to attend.
