The Geology Museum of Canton de Vaud, Switzerland, will open its exhibition on Central Asia and Western China on March 27, 2003. A book has been published for the exhibition: _La Haute-Asie telle qu'ils l'ont vue, explorateurs et scientifiques de 1820 a 1940_ (Geneva, Editions Olizane, 2003, ISBN 2-88086-299-X). Its three co-authors, Aymond Baud, Philippe Foret, and Svetlana Gorshenina, will give lectures on the encounter of European science and Asia at "Espace Arlaud," Place de la Riponne, Lausanne, March 27, at 6 pm.
