Wake Forest University's History Department announces a symposium on Thomas Dixon Jr. and the Making of Modern America, to be held April 10-12, 2003. This interdisciplinary symposium will analyze the life, importance, and vitriolic cultural leadership of Thomas Dixon Jr. and his world at the turn of the twentieth century through the lenses of literature, religion, film studies, and history. Keynote speakers will include W. Fitzhugh Brundage, University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, and Louis Menand, Graduate School-City University of New York.
