You are invited to attend The World History Association of Texas spring conference on April 12, 2003, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., at San Antonio College, San Antonio, Texas. The conference, “World History in Texas: New Horizons”, will explore issues surrounding the discipline in Texas.
George Rislov, Social Studies Coordinator for the Texas Education Agency, will be the keynote speaker. Mr. Rislov will discuss “The State of the World in the State of Texas.” Panels will include an assessment of current Teacher Preparation, the new AP World History course, a student panel on learning world history, and the linkages between world history and world geography. Additional sessions will explore world history theory and the intersection of Indian Ocean, Latin American, and United States history with World History.
Registration fee is $15.00 if paid before April 1, 2003. After April 1, the registration fee is $18.00. Fee includes (1) year membership to the WHAT. Fee is $8.00 for students, all students welcome!
Lunch buffet is an additional $10.00. Coffee and refreshments are included in the registration fee.
