Local History in the New Economy
|
|
Join the Bay State Historical League in our 100th year as we examine the role of local history in the new economy. Directors, board trustees, staff, and volunteers of historical organizations throughout Massachusetts will join together with leading professionals in the field to explore how local historical organizations are responding to the challenges presented by budget cuts, declining attendance, and new technology. Beverly Sheppard, president and CEO of Old Sturbridge Village will lead off our debate in her keynote address. Discussions will continue in concurrent sessions focusing on funding, collections care and interpretation, educational programs, marketing, and the role of historical organizations in the community.
