"When Cultures Collide: Conflict and Confrontation in History," is the topic for the 5th Annual History Graduate Student Symposium to be held at California State University, Fresno on Saturday April 5, 2003.

This timely discussion offers graduate students the opportunity to explore the historical ramifications of cultural collisions. Students are encouraged to consider topics from any time period or geographical region and to explore the consequences of these intersections on the participating groups. Please submit a brief c.v. and abstract to Dr. Pamela Lackie by February 14, 2003. Final papers should be 9-12 pages in length and received by March 14, 2003. Students will present their papers at the symposium on April 5, 2003.
