Works and proposals for works in any medium, which address issues of living in Japan as a foreigner, are sought for an exhibition to be held in the summer of 2003 at the former Nihon Ginko building in downtown Hiroshima City.

An international foreign arts collective living and working in Hiroshima City are arranging the exhibition entitled:
'Made in Japan: Foreign Concepts'.
Possible ideas to be addressed include, but are not limited to:
- How does the relationship between different cultures/ethnicities play itself out in Japan?
- How is the space between Japanese and foreign/er determined, experienced and altered?
- How is the space of foreigners in Japan defined and what does it mean to be a gaikokujin?
Our aim is to create an event where the nature of the experience of foreigners in Japan can be publicly engaged. Collaborations between foreigners and/or with Japanese artists are encouraged.
