The University of New England's Maine Women Writers Collection is pleased to announce the inaugural University of New England Writers' Conference, to be held June 27-29, 2003, at the Collection facility on the Westbrook College Campus.

This year's theme is Writing New England: Historical Fiction and Creative Non-Fiction, featuring Best-selling Author Sena Jeter Naslund, and Pulitzer Prize Nominee Bunny McBride.

The Writers' Conference features the unique resources of The University of New England's Maine Women Writers Collection and the unique history and setting of Maine.

The Conference will draw on the expertise of nationally-known writers of historical fiction and creative non-fiction, the talents of experienced teachers of creative writing, and the insights of historians, librarians, and curators.

The Conference is open to men and women writers, from beginners to advanced.
