The African American Studies Program, Institute for African American Policy at the University of Houston, will be holding its first annual research symposium on Africana Historiography. Selected scholars will present papers on topics in historiography focusing on the Africana experience with emphasis on: Africa; the Caribbean; Europe; and the United States. This is a research program and participants are expected to engage and receive commentary on their respective essays. Designated essays will be prepared for publication. University faculty, independent scholars, and advanced graduate students are encouraged to submit a one page abstract to:
